Buy Cialis to relieve your Erectile Dysfunction

How to use Cialis

As with any prescription medication, you should always take Cialis as directed by your physician or pharmacist. If you buy Cialis online, make sure you read through the patient notes to ensure that you are able to take the medication safely, and that you take the correct dose.

In general you can take Cialis with or without food except that you should avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice. There is a chemical in grapefruit that affects the rate at which your body absorbs certain medications. It can disrupt the rate at which your body absorbs the dose of Cialis and, in some case, expose you to danger. Cialis is supplied in 5mg, 10mg and 20mg tablets. The recommended starting dose for most patients is 10mg. The dose may be increased to 20mg or decreased to 5mg depending on how your body reacts. You can take the 5mg tablet once a day. The conventional dose of 10mg should be taken as and when required. Always wait the full 24 hours before taking a lower dose tablet. Always wait at least 36 hours between doses for the conventional or 20mg tablet.

You should not take Cialis if:

  • you are allergic to any of the active ingredients — no matter how tempting it may be to attempt to tolerate any allergic reaction to get an erection, it can be dangerous;
  • sickle cell anaemia, leukaemia, multiple myeloma or any problems with blood clotting;
  • your penis has been affected by Peyronie disease or cavernosal fibrosis, or there is any other condition that may increase the risk of priapism, i.e. an unnaturally prolonged erection;
  • you have any genetic, hereditary or other eye problems including retinitis pigmentosa, optic neuropathy and macular degeneration;
  • you have angina, any irregularity of heartbeat, problems with your blood pressure or vascular system, or have had a heart attack or stroke; or
  • you have any serious problems with your liver or kidneys.

Before using Cialis

Some medications may interact adversely with Cialis including the following:

  • macrolide antibiotics such as erythromycin or clarithromycin (Biaxin), or telithromycin used to treat respiratory infections may increase the risk of side effects from Cialis;
  • alpha-blockers, e.g. Cardura or doxazosin, used to treat high blood pressure, nitrates e.g. isosorbide and nitroglycerin used to treat coronary heart disease, or Nitropress or nitroprusside used as a vasodilator because the interaction may cause severe loss of blood pressure with the risk of feeling dizzy and lightheaded — exceptionally, you may faint;
  • Sporanox or itraconazole which are used to control fungal infections;
  • HIV protease inhibitors (e.g. ritonavir);
  • Rifampin (a bactericidal) reduces the effectiveness of Cialis.

You should always ask your physician or pharmacist before you start, stop or change the dose of any medication.

Safety information

All medications can have side effects but, when taking Cialis, these are few and mostly mild. The most common are:

  • headache;
  • heartburn;
  • mild back or muscle pain;
  • stomach upset; or
  • stuffy or runny nose.

Cialis may cause you to feel dizzy or drowsy. It may also blur your vision. You should therefore not risk driving or operating any form of machine until you know how you are likely to react when taking Cialis. These side effects will be worse:

  • if you have combined Cialis with alcohol or some other medications — in general, it is unwise to drink alcohol in any quantity when taking Cialis because the combination can reduce your blood pressure;
  • the weather is hot;
  • if you have been engaging in vigorous exercise; or
  • you have a fever.

If you have heart problems, you should seek the specific approval of your physician before taking Cialis. You could have an increased risk of a heart attack or stroke. For these purposes, if you experience pain in your chest, shoulder or neck, or numbness in an arm or leg, or severe dizziness, headache or vision changes, treat this as an emergency and go to a hospital immediately.

In rare cases, Cialis may cause priapism, i.e. an unnaturally prolonged, and painful erection even when you are not having sex. If you do not go and have emergency treatment, this can lead to permanent damage to your penis and impotence.

You should also beware the myths surround the use of Cialis. Cialis does not act as a condom and so you can contract or transmit a sexually transmitted disease, and you can cause your partner to become pregnant in the usual way.
